Today, we're doing another Q&A session. The last one we did was really so good- in fact it was one of our most popular podcast episodes to date! I really love having these Q&A's! I love being able to jump right in and have you join us live and get some questions answered. We also have had some people submit their questions beforehand, just in case they can't make it live, so listen in, as we dive right in today, wrapping up our series for the month of July, which is all about working smarter, not harder.

“I've just got back from an event on Monday and Tuesday and one of the things I've noticed from going to Live Events- and also posting my Live Events, is...” From minute 1:33, Stacy shares a big difference that she's noticed between herself, as a visionary, and others, when it comes to working smarter, not harder, after coming home from Live Events. This is about seeing the bigger picture, rather than the tedious little ones that tend to overwhelm you.
“I want to start a podcast, but I don't know how to manage finding the time.” From minute 2:57, Stacy answers a question about how to find more time, in an already busy schedule. Here, Stacy explains about re-purposing. She takes just one piece of content and uses it all over the place!
“I'm thinking about using Facebook notes, rather than a separate blog- what do you, or anyone else in this group, think of that?” At minute 6:30, Jessica asks a question about saving time, using Facebook notes, rather than writing a separate blog. Stacy comes up with a number of different ideas here and explains about picking your niche and attracting the type of people that you want to come to you.
“What are the best methods for managing time spent with existing clients?” At minute 8:03, Stacy talks about the fine line between engaging with your clients and giving them your attention, and when they expect too much and begin crossing your boundaries. Here she explains how to remain in charge of your boundaries, in order for you to run your business and not have it running you.
“What do you do when you realise- okay, I don't have boundaries set and I've been letting them break them?” From minute 11:30, Stacy explains what you can do, right this second, if you realise that you haven't set any boundaries with your clients and things are out of control. She explains how you can set new levels of expectation.
“When you are trying to give away these bonuses and perks and and all of this...” From minute 14:37, Stacy explains how you can throw in perks and bonuses, and still make it scalable, without giving away your time.
“I have an email provider- well the email provider could, at any moment, go bankrupt, or anything and those emails are just gone.” From minute 15:52, Stacy talks about the types of unforeseen things that people just don't think about, with the things that they do not own, like email providers. So your eggs should never all be in one basket.
“Do you think having a Facebook Group versus just having a Fan Page is important? I'm afraid that it would take up too much of my time.” From minute 12.23, Stacy answers Natasha's question and explains some confusing bits of Facebook, relating to the personal and business aspects of your profile. Linking your Personal Profile to your Business Page and your Group, on Facebook, really saves you time. You definitely do need a Fan Page- if you don't, it means that you're not running Facebook Ads and you really should be doing that, because everybody's target market is on Facebook. Again, this relates to re-purposing.
“If you can properly tag your Friends, to whatever category they should be in, it would be really great to show entrepreneurs certain things, but I don't want my sister to have to watch, or my mother-in-law to have to watch.” From minute 19:39, Stacy talks about how to properly tag on Facebook, so that only the right people see the things that you post.
“In my Group, I might be doing something a little extra, or a little bonus, but the Group is about engagement and it's where we have our big challenges.” From minute 21:48, Stacy explains how she makes great use of her Facebook Group for her big challenges. She has one coming up in September and she points out the massive changes that you will see, in the Group, when the challenge happens. It goes to literally hundreds of posts per day!
“I really think that you need to be having all three of them- and that sounds so overwhelming, but, when you use a scheduling tool...” From minute 22:15, Stacy explains that by using a Scheduling Tool to create automated posts, you really can use a Fan Page, a Group and a Business Page on Facebook, without becoming overwhelmed. Stacy uses Meet Edgar.
“We've had Brand Ambassadors, so people that I'm coaching in my Profit Mastermind, my Profit Mastermind members have stepped up to the plate and have been the Brand Ambassador for the week.” From minute 23:01, Stacy explains how the members of her Profit Mastermind have really stepped up and become her Brand Ambassadors for the week. She's fully utilising these leaders and showing their capabilities out there, and it's also a test run for them, so this is another way that Stacy is working smarter, not harder.
“Where do I need to look to get a phone number on Google?” From minute 24:10, Stacy answers Amanda's question and explains that by going to Google Voice, you can get a free Google Phone Number in there. Stacy explains the benefits of having this option and also why she really loves having Google Voice.
“It's always, always in the preparation and not in the performance.” At minute 27:17, Stacy explains why you really need to focus on being prepared.
“ August is going to be all about Product Development.” From minute 27:55, Stacy talks about what's coming up in August. The focus will be on creating a better product for your customer.
“Heading into September, we are launching a challenge and we will be relaunching another round of Profit mastermind.” At minute 28:36, Stacy talks about what you can expect to be coming up, in September.
Today is an extra special day, because we are live, in my home, with eight other women! They are here for the Profit Mastermind Retreat. The Profit Mastermind is a ninety-day program that I launched back in May. Some of the women in it upgraded to a special retreat- and they're here, so I'm super excited! A few of them are going to pop in today, to say 'hello' and talk a bit about how they're working smarter, not harder. Listen in to find out about how they're doing that.
I'm really grateful to be having this retreat in my home. Remember though, that these people were already enrolled in a program and I've known them for a few months now. Neither my husband nor I would allow just anybody into our home. What's really cool about having them come here is this sense of connection, on a different level to the online portion of the Mastermind. I almost regretted doing it here, because I had to get my house ready- it's a bit like having a party, so everything had to be a bit cleaner than normal. But, now that it's here, I'm really glad, because I did not have to travel out on Tuesday, and then back again on Friday- and I get to sleep in my own bed!
Even though we're just barely into the retreat, it was really great to start developing deeper relationships with everyone, through hearing all of them share their unique stories last night. This morning, we've just kicked off and I'm truly loving doing this from my house, so this might really be something that I will do again, in the future. Listen in as I introduce you to the ladies. “Well, I'm a big advocate in productivity.” From minute 13:10, Cheryl talks about what she's doing and how she's working smarter, not harder. Cheryl became aware of how many women, herself included, were trapped in a career that they didn't love any more, so she launched Elite Women In Business, to help them to get off the corporate treadmill, seize their passion and go out and create their own businesses. Cheryl had a real Bucket List Moment when she was invited by John Lee Dumas, to be a guest on EOFire Podcast. It is recorded two months in advance, so in those two months, she really wanted to leverage the exposure and get some long term benefits from that amazing opportunity. The funny thing is that the show aired on July the 4th, when Cheryl and her family were away on vacation, with no internet connection, so she only got to hear the show an almost week after it aired! She did, however, make sure, prior to leaving for her vacation, that she automated ads to run to the link to that podcast. She also had a blog post prepared to go out and she'd pre-scheduled all her Facebook posts, to give the links to the show notes. Do you feel guilty when you want to do something fun, when you know you should be back in the office, doing something else? Well, today we're talking about why you need to be thinking about growing your team and developing leaders within, even if you are a solo entrepreneur. I know that all of that can really be scary. You're possibly thinking that you're not yet ready to hire or to take that to the next level, so if you are new, no matter how big or small your business is, I guarantee that this topic will benefit everybody watching! There are probably a lot of things on your to-do list that you really could delegate, but the question is: “Who do you give this to?”. I really love the quote “ You can do anything, but you can't do everything”. I think this is something we should tell ourselves every single day. In one of my businesses, I have a large team of almost forty employees. I was, however, a solo entrepreneur for the first three years of my business and it's really important that you know that, because you don't just start with forty employees- that would be a disaster. I really do remember how exhausted and overwhelmed I was, as a solopreneur, though! I remember so many things that I guilt-tripped myself into, thinking that if I stop working, then nobody is working on my business!
Then came a point where I realized that I would actually rather have more freedom, than the money aspect of my business. I was so burned out that I decided that I really wanted to buy back some of my time. I wanted to have someone working with me so that I could delegate to them, knowing that somebody was working on my business and my business was still moving forward, while I was out with my kids. That is really an incredible and irreplaceable feeling! Listen in to find out how you can get there, with your business.

“Sometimes... we have to possibly pay an employee or a contractor before we pay ourselves in our business.” From minute 4:22, Stacy talks about the priorities in your business and how to justify paying someone on your team, when you're not getting paid. This is where you really have to see the future and focus on your mindset and know that this is only temporary.
“It's no different than thinking you're investing in somebody like that then maybe investing in somebody that is your personal assistant.” From minute 5:46, Stacy explains that investing in assistant is actually an investment, similar to hiring a Facebook Ads Strategist, or a Copywriter when you're not yet making money in your business.
“If you don't have an assistant, you are the assistant.” At minute 6:04, Stacy gives you a good phrase, that she really wants you to be thinking about. You really could be working on much higher paying jobs.
“When you hire a coach, they're going to help you build strategies that help you make money.” At minute 6:53, Stacy reminds you of the real value in hiring a coach- and it's the same thing when you're talking about any of these types of people.
“Which tasks are you doing right now, in your business, that you are currently paying yourself way too little?” At minute 7:19, Stacy gives you something important to consider, about your business. These are the things that you really should not be doing in your business, that you could be outsourcing.
“Don't forget about personal things like house cleaning- whatever else is holding you back from doing work.” From minute 9:09, Stacy talks about more things that are taking up your time, that could be outsourced to someone else, for way less money than you would be earning if you were working on your business.
“Ask yourself: 'Is this moving my business forward, or is this something that I could outsource for a much cheaper rate than what I should be doing- I should be bringing in?'” At minute 10:19, Stacy gives you a really important question that you need to ask yourself when doing something that could possibly be done by someone else.
“The people that you bring in to help you, can be so much more than just a contractor or just an employee.” From minute 10:58, Stacy explains how the people that you bring in to help you really can be a part of your business and how you can help them to feel that way, by helping them to see the vision and the end results.
“If you're a control freak and you're thinking 'I could never take this off my plate.'” From minute 12:32, Stacy gives you some advice about how to give up control. There are some things that people on your team really can do better than you can.
“I do want to tell you though when it comes to money, you don't have to hire somebody for full time.” From minute 15:35, Stacy gives some ways to hire someone without having to spend too much money.
“You have to keep paying them, but they're not doing anything because you don't have your act together to give them opportunities or things to work on.” From minute 16:14, Stacy talks about why you really need to have systems in place and that it can be very inexpensive to hire someone if you hire them very part time.
“I want you to be thinking about a list of three.” From minute 18:05, Stacy gives you a list of three things that you can start working on immediately, today: 1)What should you be doing? 2) What should be deleted off of your to-do list? 3) What can you delegate?
“Your delegate list becomes this great area for you to go and say really 'here's a job description'.” From minute 19:52, Stacy explains how your delegate list can be used as a great job description, for the types of jobs you need to delegate when you're looking for somebody to help you.
“You want to make sure that you hire somebody, you really are hiring them knowing, okay I can afford this.” From minute 20:38, Stacy talks about hiring the right people, people who will be great in their departments.
