Merry Christmas!  I hope you are having a great holiday with your family and friends.  Not only that, I hope you are beginning to reflect and look back on 2019 as you are planning for 2020!

It’s really hard to look forward without first looking backward.

We need to assess what we liked, what we didn’t like, what we want more of, and what we want less of.

Reflecting has been a huge part of my goal-setting process, and you will see why today!

This is going to be a really great episode because I am committed to being honest and transparent and showing what worked, what didn’t and what new things I will be doing in 2020. (And the reasoning behind it).

Here are a few highlights you won’t want to miss:

"There's a lot of nervousness, there's a lot of unknown..." at 1:30 Stacy shares what she's nervous about that will happen in January of 2020.

"We really started hiring this year with..." at 8:38 Stacy talks about the #1 game changer she made when it comes to hiring a new team member.

"Next year in 2020 I am going to be better at..." at 18:56 Stacy talks about the most difficult changes she is going to make in the new year.

Welcome back to another episode of the Foot Traffic podcast!!

Are you currently running paid traffic to your small business?  Are you bringing in consistent new leads and sales every single day?

Today, I want to give you a behind-the-scenes look into Foot Traffic, and how we will be maximizing visibility and paid traffic in 2020.

If you aren’t constantly assessing what’s working, tweaking what’s not, and trying new things… your social strategy will become outdated very quickly.

Today for this conversation, I have my Marketing Director, Michelle Fernandez, here to join me.  Michelle is my go-to for all things Facebook Ads and funnels, and I cannot wait for you to hear the new strategies we are implementing already this year.

Here are a few highlights you won’t want to miss:

"You're consistently getting new people to your funnel..." at 7:30 Stacy and Michelle talk about how we use Brand Awareness to pre-qualify our prospects.

"We put the social selling system in place..." at 15:26 Stacy and Michelle dive deep into why social selling is the new norm and how you should be closing sales on social media.   Times are changing and if you are not on your social platforms selling you are missing out!  Social selling is the best way to engage and have personal conversations with your prospective customers.

"If your conversions are not high, here's why..." at 28:33 Stacy and Michelle talk about 3 missing gaps in your funnel that are hurting your conversions.

You can check out more about Michelle and hear her new podcast, The Traffic and Conversions Show with Michelle Fernandez, at www.themichellefernandez.com

Welcome back to another episode of the Foot Traffic podcast!!

I have so many small business owners who come to me and say negative things like, “My team is just not performing!” or “My team is not bringing value the way I know they should.”  And more often than not, I have to be brutally honest and tell them I need them to change before they can even think to see their team change. I let them know there are several things I need them to do to start showing up and really be the leader that they need to be.

There’s this phrase that says, “If a flower doesn’t bloom it’s not the flower’s fault, it’s the environment.”

Now, disclaimer: Yes, there will be a few times when someone slips through the cracks and you hired the wrong person.  But that is not what I see most often.

Typically, with just a few tweaks in the environment of your team, you will see massive changes to their behavior and action.  And that’s exactly what we are talking about today.

Here are a few highlights you won’t want to miss:

"If you want your people to be more accountable..." at 4:51 Stacy tells you the #1 question to ask yourself when determining if you are holding your team accountable.  She explains the importance of your company's org chart so your employees know their role, the manager's roles and who is responsible for every aspect of the business.

"Assess what they are up to..."  at 7:52 Stacy talks about what activity you should be doing every quarter with your team to ensure productivity and accountability.  She discusses what her team does quarterly, monthly, weekly and shares how to set specific KPI's for every individual.

"Setting bad boundaries make people think it's okay..." at 14:08 Stacy discusses how to get your team to stop constantly reaching out to you about things you don’t need to know.    She shares what happens with her team and how to make team members accountable for their actions.

Last week we discussed 7 strategies to hold yourself accountable! If you happened to miss that episode, I would click here and go listen right away. Today’s episode we are going to talk about holding your team accountable, which truly begins with you leading by example and holding yourself accountable. So, I highly recommend you go listen to that episode first!

P.S. Did you hear about our free Foot Traffic Workshop happening February 10-14, 2020. During this free workshop we will cover:

Welcome back to another episode of the Foot Traffic podcast!!

We all know that person….  The person who says they are going to do something, but never actually follows through with it.   Whether it's the friend that just started another new diet and says this is going to be the one she sticks to…   Or the cousin that is talking about starting that new business but still hasn’t… Or maybe your brother who has a plan to get out of debt this year but just bought a brand new boat.

We all know those types of people, and to be honest, at times this can be us too if we aren’t careful.

I know you set big goals for yourself and your business in 2020, but now I have to ask…   How are you holding yourself accountable to reaching those goals?  Better yet, who is holding you accountable to reaching those goals?

Today, I am going to share with you my 7 tips to improving your accountability and making sure you actually follow through with accomplishing all your goals this year.

Here are a few highlights you won’t want to miss:

"See your goals, see what you are working towards..." at 13:24 Stacy talks about the one thing you can do immediately to trigger your mind to focus on your goal continuously.  She shares what she does to always be on top of her goals.

"If I were to look at your calendar, would I be able to tell what your goals are..."  at 17:38 Stacy reveals the question to ask yourself to find out if you are truly prioritizing your goals.

"Pick someone that pushes you, that you're excited to connect with..."  at 24:12 Stacy discusses the qualities to look for when picking an accountability partner.

Welcome back to another episode of the Foot Traffic podcast!!

There are a few places where I feel special, dare I say even “famous”.  They aren’t places you would expect.  One being Office Depot.  I walk in, wait in line at the print department and the employee says, “Stacy, I will be right with you.”  The people in front of me look back to check out who I am and then look forward completely unphased.  Office Depot doesn’t know me as a Small Business Guru or the Wisconsin Small Business Person of the Year.  Nope.  They know me as someone who prints stuff.  A lot. At Office Depot.  Now I don’t go in as much because my team does but I bet they feel the exact same way.

When the Office Depot brand reached out to see if I would like to come on their podcast, I was beyond excited and today I am going to bring you that conversation because it was so good!  Big Disclaimer: This episode is not just for those who shop or print at Office Depot!  It is for the Small Business Owner!

This episode is for all small business owners and we will be talking all things business, branding, LinkedIn, holiday promotions (not just Christmas) and how we can leverage all holidays to grow our business).

I have to be honest,  I was extremely impressed with Office Depot.  I got to hear a little bit of the behind the scenes and they are really innovating and keeping up with the times! They are truly focused on not getting stuck in old ways, and they are working at growing and evolving as a business every single day.

Here are a few highlights you won’t want to miss:

"We are heavily using..." at 5:39 I share the two social platforms my brick and mortar business is getting the best results on right now.

"You need to always be thinking about the end consumer..." at 6:30 LinkedIn expert, Brittany Krystle share the #1 thing to think about when choosing your social platform.  She also shares her personal favorite platforms and where you should have your business.

"How do you get them in the door..." at 13:29 we chat all about how to get specific on your language to your ideal market.

"Maximizing your time..." at 35:50 we discuss what Office Depot does to increase efficiency for their customers in both the online and brick and mortar spaces.

P.S.Did you hear? I am hosting a FREE live training on Monday, January 20th inside the Foot Traffic Community and I will be sharing on the Success Habits of a CEO! Make sure to subscribe to the event here.

Here are a few highlights you won’t want to miss:

"Should I pay myself or put the money back in my business..." at 6:31 Mike explains the importance of paying yourself.  When you start allocating money to yourself, the owner, you start to see what is actually available to work with within your business.

"Willpower is like a muscle, it fatigues..." at15:40 Mike and Stacy discuss what your business is telling you when you don't have the money for something you want.   Mike talks about removing temptations in your business so you don't go into debt.

Email feels like it's slowly dying, however, it isn't dead. 📩 We make sales from our emails every week. I know we want our email list to get bigger and bigger but that actually can be a problem.

Today I talked about why we intentionally keep it small and how that is actually helping our sales.

Now, let's talk about why you need to leverage the power of reviews now before it's too late!

A lot of the big economists are talking about another recession ahead. We don't know when but we know that one is coming. History always repeats itself.

As someone who has owned a small business during the last recession, I will tell you, you have to get scrappy. But the good news is we still have time to help recession-proof our business and one of the ways is maximizing your reviews.

Every business is reviewed somewhere, whether you have Facebook, Yelp, Google, Amazon, iTunes, trust me your business is being reviewed somewhere.

Word of mouth is a lot of times small business owners' #1 source of new customers.

The big question is how we do maximize that?

Getting referrals is getting harder and harder. People are not sharing about your business unless they have a good reason.

Today I'll this Holiday referral bonus that we do. It is perfect for you to announce in December and still get some last-minute holiday sales.

Welcome back to another episode of Foot Traffic!  I am really excited because I'm going to be interviewing somebody today that is a client of The Foot Traffic Formula.   Recently she asked me to show her the 'blueprint.'  She wanted to be told what to do.   And that's super exciting to me because that's exactly how I am.   So I shared with her what the blueprint is and wanted to share that with you as well.  We hold ourselves back and put too much pressure on ourselves and I'm excited to share this with you to help alleviate some of that pressure.

I'm so thrilled to introduce all of you to Aubrey Bursch of Easy School Marketing.  Aubrey recently joined the Powerhouse Mastermind after completing a round of The Foot Traffic Formula.

"We get so caught up in our goals and then we get so upset with ourselves and we don't hit them..." at 4:08 Stacy and Aubrey chat about realistic and doable goals.   They discuss why so many people get caught up in unrealistic numbers and then ultimately get deflated.   Stacy provides insight and tips on how to choose goals that make sense for your business.

"We hang out with like-minded people..." at 19:34 Stacy provides coaching about how to get market research for your business.  Stacy gives examples of how she gets free market research that can lead to huge changes in your business!

"What has been your biggest takeaway or what have you enjoyed most about Foot Traffic Formula..." at 26:15 Stacy asks Aubrey about her feedback in The Foot Traffic Formula program.    Aubrey shares her thoughts and comments about the program and what it has done to help her business grow.

Aubrey is such a rockstar and a go-getter!  If you want to learn more about Aubrey you can connect with her at www.easyschoolmarketing.com, on Instagram @aubrey_bursch and on Facebook @easyschoolmarketing

Welcome back to another episode of Foot Traffic!  Today we are going to be talking about customer retention! Today I am joined by Casey Graham, the CEO of Gravy who is going to share the 4 step system to creating higher-paying and longer staying clients.

We all know the importance of converting leads to sales, but what about once they buy?  How do we keep them?  More specifically, how do we keep them paying the bills they have committed to pay? (Which can be one of the biggest headaches in the small business world).

"The Mad Mom Principle..."  at 7:35 Casey explains the #1 reason people quit courses and programs.   So many customers are oblivious to what you, as a business owner, assume they already know.  As entrepreneurs, we have blinders on to the courses and products we create.  Casey talks about two software programs that will help you gain more insight on this topic.

"The Magic Moment Principle.." at 13:15 Casey discusses the question you need to ask yourself in order to get your customers emotionally invested.  There is a very easy and simple something that you can implement to give your customers a win within the first week.

"The Press Zero Principle..." at 19:10 talks about why human interaction is so important to consumers when they have an issue.  We chat about why this step is so crucial, even if you cannot immediately solve their problem.

"The $0.55 Principle..." at 23:00 Casey explains the importance of taking the time to do non-scalable activities to really love on your clients.

If you want to learn more about Gravy head to gravysolutions.io.  Casey and the team at Gravy are the answer to recurring revenue retention for businesses with subscriptions and memberships.  Let them know you are visiting from the Foot Traffic Podcast!

Welcome back to another episode of Foot Traffic! If you know me, you know I am a productivity nerd and a systems girl. I'm really excited to be interviewing Tonya Dalton today who is the founder of inkWELLPress Productivity Company and the author of her book, The Joy of Missing Out. Today we're talking about that concept both personally and in our business. When should we say yes and how we often throw things on our calendars that we shouldn't. There are so many things out there and we have to decide when to say yes and when to say no. Let's dive in!

"I believe the book is more than a book. It's the start of a movement..." At minute 2:33, hear what made Tonya write her book, The Joy of Missing Out and how it came to be. Plus, we're talking about how we hide behind the word 'busy'.

"It's really easy for 'yes' to slip out of our mouths.." At 7:18, we dive into a concept I learned from Tonya about the number of Friday's you have left  and how that has changed her and her family. I ask her how she finds balance, what questions to ask and the boundaries we should put in place to assess if it's something we should move froward with.

"We chase this illusion of balance and it truly does not exist..." At minute 18:16, we're talking about putting quantity over quality. Are you doing things with intention? Hear what routines, both personal and business, have been a game changer for Tonya.

"We believe that periods of rest are a reward for great work but it's actually a requirement..." At 28:27, a reminder of why taking time to rest and recharge is so important and why we are worn out and exhausted. Plus, hear what tools Tonya uses to keep all of her systems organized.

If you want to connect more with Tonya you can head to joyofmissingout.com to find more resources and discussion guides. You can also visit her website here to check out her podcast, Productivity Paradox, watch her Tonya TV episodes, blogs and resources to help you feel more productive!
